Too Close is the eighteenth episode in Glee: A New Beginning, season three. It is be written by ArpickgLeeker.
Plot[]
It starts with Dj walking by the hallways talking to himself, Damn boy! Here you are. Your future depends on this week's audition! If I get into NYADA, I will definitely be the happiest gay boy on Earth! Right now, NYADA, New York and Broadway are the most important things in my life. Well, all that and my boyfriend, Teddy. The only thing that makes me worried, is the fact that I cheated on him, and the fact that I'm lying to him. Penny told me that if I don't tell him, she will. I don't really believe it, I mean Penny is a sweet and shy girl. But we haven't talk since that day in the hospital, and that was while we were in Las Vegas. I'm really worried, but that can't affect me, not right now. I just have to focus on me and my NYADA audition. I love the song I will perform, I mean, must of the people will audition with a Broadway song, but I won't. I will sing something by My Chemical Romance. It will be weird, but it will be awesome! While that Dj gets by Penny as he asks her, Are we friends? Penny, Excuse me? Dj, We haven't talked in one week. I just want to know if you're still my friend. Penny, Dj, I love you. You're one of my two best friends in the universe! But, I can't stand lies. Dj, Everything was going really good until you said but. Penny, Dj, you have to tell Teddy about it. Dj, I know. Penny, Really? Dj, Yeah, but I won't do it. Penny sighs as she says, Dj, as I said before, I love you. But Teddy is important for me too, and if you don't tell him, I will. Dj, Didn't you say the same back in Las Vegas? Penny, Yes, I did. And if I didn't tell Teddy was because I didn't want to distract him. But now... Dj, Okay! I dare you! Penny, What?! Dj, Tell him, tell him right now! Penny, Wow, you know what? Dj, What? Penny, I can't believe I'm going to say this but... Dj starts crying as he asks, What?! You hate me?! Penny, No Dj! Aren't you paying attention?! I love you! But, of all the things I know you are or you can be, I din't know that being mean, and worse than that, being mean with the ones you love was part of those things! Dj, Kill me! Why don't you?! Dj leaves crying and pushing all the students in the hallway. Penny moans as she lays her head on her locker.
Later the kids were in the Choir Room. Will and Sue get in as Will says, Good morning Nationals Champs! I just wanted to remind you that I'm really proud of you and that... Sue, Oh no Schuester! Please don't continue with this! All you have done during this week is saying how great you feel after winning Nationals! Do you know how many times you made me throw out?! Please, for the love of God and Martin Suckulberg, stop doing that! Caro, Woah! Will, Okay, I will stop. Sue, Awesome! Abi, Who's Martin Suckulberg? Luke, Forget about that. And let's focus, now that we won Nationals... Abi, What's next? Luke, I was going to ask that. Abi, Forget about it. Will, Well, we have to prepare a number for the organizers of the Glee Clubs competitions, then we have to get ready for prom, then we have Internationals and last but not least we have the graduation. Charlie, Mr. Schue, you're forgeting about something really important. Will, What? Jade, Our NYADA auditions! They will be this week. Will, Really? That's awesome guys! Abi, Not really. Dj, What? Abi, Guys, I hope you don't get accept on NYADA, and I also hope all of you will fail this year. Sue, What's wrong with you? Abi, I don't want you to leave. Jade, Aw Abi, we have to move on. Mark, Yeah, that's what life is about. Abi, Damn, I know. Penny, We will miss you too Abi, a lot. Abi, No, you won't. You'll have a brand new and successful life at New York. You will definitely forget about me, and the rest of us. You'll barely remember you're left your friends, and you'll barely remember you're living with three of them. Charlie, No, that won't happen to us, you're our family. Will, That's the attitude Charlie! And by the way, I think you have an assignment for the week. You'll work on your audition song all the week. Penny, Thank you Mr. Schue. Aaliyah, And what about us? What are we going to do this week? Will, I don't know, maybe you can give them ideas for their audition song. Charlie, Yeah, choosing a song is really hard. Chuck, Well, count on us! Mark, Yeah, we're definitely going to help you! Charlie, Thank you bros. The bell rings as Sue says, Now leave before I start yelling at you, move!
Later Penny and Jade were at Jade's house. They were in Jade's room rehearsing for their audition. Jade, You'll be awesome on that audition! I mean, no one can sing a Mariah Carey's song better than you. Well, I'm the only exception, but we're not talking about me. Penny, Thank you Jade. You'll be great too, I would rather to sing something that's not from a musical because everybody does it, but anything that you sing will be great! Jade, Do you really think that singing a Broadway song is boring? Penny, I didn't say it was boring, I said that everyone that auditions for NYADA sings a Broadway song. Jade, It sounds like boring for me! Penny, Oh my God! Forget what I say! You sound awesome! And anything that you sing will be great! Jade, Aw, thank you Penny. Jade hugs Penny as she asks, By the way, what's wrong with you and Dj? Penny, What? Jade, I know there's something wrong, we always sit: Charlie, Jade, Dj and Penny. Teddy sits in front of Dj and Mark sits behind you. But now, since we came back from Las Vegas, it is just: Charlie and Jade. Penny, It is something meaningless. Jade, Not so meaningless, you're not talking to each other. Penny, I don't really want to talk about it Jade. Jade, Okay. After they finish talking someone knocks the door and Jade says, Come in! The door opens and they notice it was Dj. Jade, Hey boy friend! Dj, Hey... Girl friend! Penny, I should leave. Jade, No, you're staying! Dj, I guess I'm the one that should leave. Jade, Come on guys! You need to tell me what's going on! Dj, I don't think you should know, not now. Penny, Nice! First you hide it from Teddy, who's your boyfriend, and now you're hiding it to Jade, who's one of your two best friends! Jade, What's going on?! Dj, You have to make a correction, I just have one best friend, and it is Jade. Penny, What?! Jade, Guys! I need to know what's going on! Penny, Well, I guess that now, I hate you! Jade, No! Nobody hates anyone. We're all best friends! Penny, Not anymore. See you Jade. Penny grabs her bag and then she leaves Jade's room. Jade, Dj, what's going on here?! Dj, I'm sorry honey, but as I said before, you can't know, not now. Jade, Damn! I'm so confused! Dj, I'm sorry. Dj kisses Jade's head and then he leaves as Jade sits on her bed.
The next day Jordin and Aaliyah were walking by the hallway. Aaliyah, So, you are not over James? Jordin, No, I don't know why! Aaliyah, It is love. Jordin, I don't know. Is that when I'm near him, I feel weird.' Aaliyah, If it is not love, it may be sexual attraction! Jordin, Did you have to say it out loud?! Everybody heard it! Aaliyah, Well, he flirted and I flirted back and somehow we kind of fell in love. But first of all I had a sexual attraction, I mean just look at him, he's hot! Jordin grabs Aaliyah by her arm and they start running to the Choir Room. The music starts as Jordin and Aaliyah were in the Choir Room with the rest of the kids. The girls clap, but the boys were really confused. Chuck, Okay, what was that? Luke, Yeah, it was hot but very weird. Jordin, It is a song that explains how we feel sometimes. Penny, It was kind of good and everything, but it is not a good song for an audition. Aaliyah, We know. we just wanted to sing it. Sue, That was the weirdest performance I've ever seen and heard! Will, Sue, don't start. Aaliyah, What do you think about it Mr. Schue? Will, Well, it was... The weirdest performance I've ever seen and heard. Jordin sarcastically says, Thank you Mr. Schue. Will, Don't missunderstand me. It was really good, but it was also really weird. Aaliyah, Well, Jill Scott is not the most normal woman in the world. Jordin, Yeah. The bell rings as the kids starts leaving the Choir Room. James stops Jordin as he says, I need to talk with you. Jordin, There's nothing to talk about. James, Jordin, please. Jordin, See you later, on classes, unfortunately. Jordin leaves as James sits and covers his face with his hands.
Later Abi, Courtney and Jordin were by Abi's locker. Abi, I really loved your performance. Jordin, Really? Abi, Yeah! Courtney, I didn't find it weird, I mean, the song is weird, but your performance was really cool. Jordin, Thank you. Abi, So, the song was dedicated to James? Jordin, Kind of. Courtney, If you like him, you should tell him. Jordin, He is still in love with Dj. Abi, So what? You should try. Courtney, Yeah, you should. Jordin, I don't know. While that Daniel and James get by them. Daniel, Hey girls! Courtney, Hey! Abi, Aloha! James, What are you doing? Jordin, You know, talking about girls stuff. Daniel, Well, girls do that. A lot. Jordin, Yeah. James, Did you heard the news? Courtney, Which news? Daniel, Well, rumor has it that now we are a little bit more popular than before. Abi, Really? James, Yeah, I mean, we're Notionals champs! Jordin, Those are really good news! Courtney, Well, I expected more respect after our victory. Abi, Really? Courtney, Yeah! We won Nationals and Regionals and Sectionals, that means we're not total losers, not anymore. James, I guess you're right. Suddenly Abi says, Guys, look behind you. James and Daniel turn around and they notice two Hockey Players were behind them. Daniel, Hey dudes! The Hockey Players show theirs hands, that were behind their backs and James and Daniel notice they have slushies. The Hockey Players throw the slushies to Daniel and James as one of them says, What's up losers?! Then they leave running and laughing as James yells, My eyes! Daniel, Damn! It hurts! Abi, Yeah, it hurts a lot. Jordin, I guess we're not popular yet. Daniel, Our eyes are about to die and all you worry about is our ficticious popularity?! Courtney, Let's go, we'll help you. They leave to the bathroom as Abi says, Was it good? The other guys stare at Abi as she says, I like slushies, that's why I asked.
Few minutes later Courtney and Abi were helping Daniel and Jordin was helping James. James, Why are you helping me? Jordin, Because, if this happens to me someday, I would like you to help me. James, You don't have to do it, I will always help you. Jordin, Thank you. You know, I was thinking about how mean I'm acting with you, and it is not cool. James sarcastically asks, Really? Jordin, I'm sorry. James, It's okay, I acted like a jerk with you. Jordin, Well, I guess it is all in the past. James, Yeah. About the song, that's how you feel about me? Jordin, I don't really want to talk about that. James, Come on, now we're friends. Jordin, We're friends? James, Yes, aren't we? Jordin, It is weird. James, It's okay, take your time to understand what's going on. Jordin, Thanks. James, So, the song? Jordin, I want to take time for that too. James, Come on, you can talk to me. I know you feel something for me. Jordin, Well, it is not exactly what the song says, but yes, I feel something for you. James, It's okay, I know you'll get over it before I get over Dj. Jordin, You just made of this converstion an awkward conversation. James, Sorry. Jordin, It's okay, it is love. James, Can I tell you a secret? Jordin, Well, now that we are friends, sure. The scene ends as Jordin makes a worried expression with her face.
Later Jade and Charlie were at Charlie's room. Charlie, I really love your song. Jade, Thank you, I'm really hoping for it to be nice. Charlie, Well, it is not nice. Jade, What?! Charlie, It is perfect! Jade hits Charlie as she says, You scared me! Charlie, Sorry. Jade, It's okay. Charlie, And what do you think about my song? Jade, Well, it is nice. But, Too Close is not a good song for an audition, but it is just my opinion. Charlie, I like it, and at the end of the day is how you sing that matters, not the song you choose. Jade, Well, it's true. But why don't you sing One Song Glory? Or Don't Rain On My Parade? You sing really good both songs. Charlie, Everybody sings songs from musicals, and I don't want to do it too. Jade, Well, I'm singing a song from a musical, and I'm one hundred percent sure I'm getting accepted. Charlie, Well, I know I'm getting accepted too. Jade, I know it. But, are you sure you want to sing that? Charlie, Definitely sure. Jade, Well, if you're okay with it, I'm okay with it. Charlie kisses Jade. Jade, I was thinking that we should... Charlie, Let's continue with our songs. Jade, Okay! Charlie, I can't believe our audition will be tomorrow. Jade, Yeah, and if we make it good, we'll get into NYADA! Charlie, I'm really excited and nervous! Jade, Me too. And now I'm worried about Dj and Penny too. Charlie, Yeah, you told me about it. What do you think the secret is? Jade, I don't know! The next day Sue and Will were at the Choir Room waiting for Penny, Charlie, Jade and Dj. They were watching the trophies shelf. Sue, I feel so proud of me. Will, Yeah, I feel proud of us too. Sue, No, I'm really proud of me, not us. I mean, just look! I've helped you so much! Will, Well, I can't deny that. Sue, Oh Schuester, I bet someday in the future one of these kids will be the Glee Club director, and our sons and daughters will be on it. Will, Yeah. I'm so proud of these kids, well they are not kids anymore. They grow up so fast. Sue, Please, don't start. Penny, Mark, Dj, Teddy, Jade and Charlie get in the Choir Room. Charlie, Here we are! Will, Hey guys! Penny, So, who's watching our performances? Will, Carmen Tibideaux. Penny, Oh my God! Charlie, Oh my God! Jade, Oh my God! Dj, Oh my God! Sue, I can't believe she came here just to watch you! Mark, Excuse me but, who's Carmen Tibideaux? Dj, She is one of the biggest stars form New York!'' Jade, Now, I'm really nervous. Will, Well, this is the second time she comes here. She was here for Kurt's and Rachel's auditions. Sue, Yeah it's true. I remember that Berry Nose choked. Charlie, Really? Jade, Yeah, but at the end she got accepted. Dj, Let's go! They leave to the Auditorium as Will says, Good luck guys! Sue, Break a leg! Dj, Thank you! Sue, I was being literal.
Few minutes later the kids were at the back stage. They were waiting for Sue and Will to come with Carmen Tibideaux. Teddy, Are you nervous? Dj, Yes, but I know I will rock that stage! Teddy, That's my boy! Jade, I feel that I can't breathe. Charlie, Relax, you'll be spectacular! Penny, I feel good. Mark, That's awesome! Penny, But I'm nervous. Mark, It's okay honey, you'll be okay! Penny, Thank you. You know, everytime I think of you I feel better. Mark, Really? Penny, Yeah. Mark, Well Penny, please think about me while you're singing. They kiss as Dj interrupts saying, Penny, can I talk with you? Penny, Sure. Dj, I'm sorry, I love you too, and you're a great best friend! Penny, And I don't really hate you. Dj, Friends? Penny, Friends! Jade gets by as she shouts, Best friends! They share a group hug as Charlie says, She's here! Mark, We have to go, but we will be out there, watching you. Teddy, Yeah, good luck guys. Mark and Teddy leave as Jade takes Dj hands and she says, This is the moment Dj! Dj, I know, all my future depends on this.Jade, Our future depends on this. Dj, We have to shine in that stage! Jade, I know. As Jade and Dj talk, Charlie gets by Penny and he asks, Are you nervous? Penny, Are you talking about the normal definition of nervous, or my definition of nervous? Charlie, Yours. Penny, Well my definition of nervous is being confident even though I know I'm dying inside. Charlie, Yeah? Penny, Yeah. Charlie, Well, my definition of nervous is telling my girlfriend and my friends I'm okay, but I'm dying inside. Penny, Well, I guess we have similar definitions of nervous. Charlie, I know everything will be okay, and it will be better for you. Penny, Why? Charlie, You're singing Forever, you sound awesome! Penny, Thank you. I know that you'll be awesome with Too Close too. Charlie, I'm not so sure, but I'm hoping for it to be okay. Penny, Well, I'm not so sure too. Charlie, Come here. Penny, What? Charlie, Come here, give me a hug. Penny and Charlie hug as Penny asks, Why? Charlie, We're about to graduate, and we have never been really close. Penny, Yeah, it's true. Charlie, I want that to change, I mean, we're going to live together in New York, and we will be partners at NYADA. Penny, Aren't we partners here? Charlie, You know what I mean. Penny, Yeah, I do. Thank you. Charlie, It's okay. Jade and Dj get by them as Jade asks, Who's going first? Penny, I want to go first. Jade, Nice, I'll be second. Dj, That means I'm going third. Charlie, And I'm the last one. Jade, Are you okay with it? Charlie, Yeah! I will be dying seeing what she says to you, but it will be okay. Jade, Ok, let's go!
Few minutes later Charlie, Dj and Jade were sitting down getting ready to watch Penny's performance. Dj, She seems mean. Charlie, Yeah, but I bet she's a sweet woman. Jade, I bet she's an undercover witch. Penny gets on the stage as she introduces herself, Hi, my name is Penny Lefebvre and I'll be singing Forever by Mariah Carey. Carmen, Let's hear you. Penny, Sure, guys hit it! The music starts as Penny deeply breathes.

Sue, Will, Charlie, Mark, Jade, Dj and Teddy stand up and they clap to Penny. Mark, Yeah Penny! Jade, Dj, are you crying? Dj, Yes, aren't you? Jade, No, I heard it like fifty times this week. Carmen, It was really beautiful, you should practice a little bit more the high notes, but it was almost perfect. In my opinion, you beat Mariah Carey on this one. Penny, I will, thank you! It means a lot to me! Penny leaves the stage as Charlie says, Jade, you're next. Jade, Yes, whish me good luck. Charlie, I should better kiss you. Jade, Yeah. Charlie kisses Jade and then she leaves running to the stage.
Some minutes later Jade gets out of the stage as she says, Hello! My name is Jade Weaters. I'll be singing Home from Beauty and the Beast. I know it is really normal for you to hear someone singing a Broadway song or a song for a musical, but I know you won't get bored with my performance. Carmen, You're really intense, just like someone I know. Jade, Thank you. Carmen, You should start. Jade, Oh yes! Hit it!
Jade:

Mark, I cried to, but this will be our little secret. Charlie, Nice! Carmen, It was really beautiful. It was clean and almost perfect. You remind me of someone I know. Jade, Thank you, and I bet it is Rachel Berry, right? Carmen, Yes. How do you know her? Jade, I'm her cousin! Carmen, Now I know why you're so intense. Jade, Yeah, I kind of grew up with her. I learned from the best. Well, the second best. Carmen, Well, it was really nice. Jade, Oh my God! Thank you! It means a lot! Jade leaves the stage as Teddy says, Dj, you're next. Charlie, He left like five minutes ago. Teddy, I didn't whish him good luck. Charlie, He doesn't need that. You're here, I guess it is enough for him. Teddy, Thanks.
Few moments later Dj was getting on the stage saying, Hey! Hi! Hello! My name is David Dj Pierce, and I'll be singing House of Wolves by My Chemical Romance! I know you're thinking it is a weird choice, but as Jade said, it is really normal for you to hear people singing Broadway songs and I wanted to take a risk. Carmen, Nice, let's hear you. Dj, Hit it! The music starts as Dj gets by the band.
Dj:

Sue, Will and the ohter guys stand as they cheer and clap to Dj. Charlie, Yeah! Dj! Jade, That's it boy! Dj, Thank you guys! Thank you Chuck and Luke. Luke, Anytime. Carmen, It was really good, and well coreographed. It was a weird song choice, but you were really good. You have to control your breath a little more, but otherwise, you were really good. Carmen, But, if you get accepted, you have to work harder, because until now, I don't think you have what it takes to get into NYADA. Charlie, Excuse me? Later Teddy, Jade, Penny and Mark were at a hospital room with Dj. Penny, I can't believe I've been twice in a hospital in less than one month. Teddy, Yeah. Charlie suddenly gets in really worried asking, Where's Dj?! Is he okay? Jade, Yes. Well, that's what we think. Mark, The doctor is about to come and tell us what's happening to him. Charlie, What if it is his heart again? Jade, I hope it is not. Teddy, Yeah. Mark, Look the doctor is coming. The doctor gets by them as Jade asks, What's wrong with Dj?! Charlie, Honey, relax. Jade, Sorry. Doctor, I don't have good news for you. Penny, I hate those words. Doctor, He had a heart attack. Penny, But, is he going to be okay? Doctor, I don't want to lie to you. Charlie, Is he going to be okay?! Doctor, I don't think so. Teddy starts crying as he says, Oh my God! Mark, What's wrong with his heart? Doctor, His whole heart is the problem. Jade, What happens to it? Doctor, I don't think Dj is going to be able to live more than two weeks. He has a weak heart Teddy, What?! Charlie, Is there any solution? Doctor, I'm not sure. But, we will do all we can. But for being really honest there is not cure for Dj's problem, or at least doctors and scientist haven't found one. Mark, When will he wake up? Doctor, I'm not sure, but there are many possibilities on him not to wake up again. Charlie, Oh my God! It's all my fault! Jade, No, it is not! Charlie, He didn't want to come to the hospital because he wanted to watch my nasty audition! He even lied! He told it was because he didn't eat! But it was his heart! Mark, So what? It is not your fault! Jade, His mom is about to come. Penny, I feel so freaking bad! Teddy, Are you sure he's going to di... Charlie, Don't say die, because he's not going to die. Doctor, As I told you, I don't want to lie, there is a big chance for him to die. Nurse, Doctor Sullivan, there's an emergency. Doctor, Okay, I'm going. The doctor and the nurse leave as Charlie says, Oh my God! Jade, Okay, his mother is about to get into the hospital. Mark, Guys, we have to tell the rest of the guys about this. Penny, Yeah, we have to leave now, and comeback tomorrow. Teddy, Well, see you. Mark, You're not coming? Teddy, I can't. If these are going to be his last days, I want him to spend them with me. Even if he can't notice it. Charlie, I'm sorry Teddy. Charlie hugs Teddy as he says, It's okay, I know we're all suffering. Jade, We will come tomorrow after school. Teddy, Ok, I'll tell Dj. The next day the kids were in the Choir Room. They were all really sad and upset about Dj's news. Will and Sue get in as Sue says, I can't believe cute eyes is going to die.
